Cheryl’s many travelshaving lived in Manila, Paris,
New York, and now Hanoihave contributed to this open outlook. âœI embrace everything that each city and country offers,â she explains. In Hanoi, she has been experimenting with bamboo and designing her own bedding.
It is this lifestyle, as well as her frustrations with long-distance production, which first led Cheryl to painting. Now, her work is featured in many places, most recently in Gallery Nine and at ManilArt 2015. âœPainting and pottery are my main means for creative expression,â shares Cheryl. âœIt feels more meaningful because all the work is in my hands.â s95

How renowned restaurateur Malu Gamboa lives up to her family’s legacy
“You don’t want to be a fad. That’s why you’ve got to keep yourself on top of everything day in and day outfrom the quality of the ingredients to the service, all elements come in to play,â says Malu Gamboa, general manager of the quartet of restaurants that her mother pioneered in the early 60s. “Take care of your staff, maintain your equipment, and keep your flavors authentic. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it.â
