An important factor in creating a watertight steam bath is installing a door fitted with a full gasket and rated for steam bath use. Unless the door seals off the steam bath completely, moisture will escape and cause damage to the surrounding area.
Prefabricated steam baths include a door, as do most retrofit systems. Custom steam baths, however, typically require custom-fit doors. After the bath is completely built, precise measurements are taken of the bottom, top, and both sides of the door opening to ensure a perfect fit.
Doors come in a variety of configurations, including sliding and swing designs. If necessary, they can incorporate side and top glass panels to accommodate almost any opening. Top panels may be hinged so they can promote air circulation during regular showers and after use, when you want the steam bath to dry out. Door frames can be ordered in a variety of finishes to complement any decor.
