BEST SAUNA HEATER

Some Assembly Required

If you’re thinking of purchasing a prefabricated or precut sauna, it’s important to know what’s included in the deal. A prefabricated sauna comes with framed and insulated walls and requires minimal assembly. A precut sauna comes in standard or custom sizes and requires more labor. Even though the precut boards are already sized and labeled for assembly, you still need to frame and insulate the walls. If you’re ordering a custom sauna, it’s best to do all of your framing first and then take your measurements to ensure a perfect fit.

A materials list for a precut sauna kit includes:

Tongue-and-groove boards for the walls and ceiling

Materials for two-tiered benches, including fascia boards, stiffeners, crosspiece supports, and screws for bottom fastening

Duckboard floor to cover the open part of the floor in front of the benches

Heater and controls

Heater rocks

Heater guard, if necessary, to protect bathers from accidental contact

Door, with or without a window, and related hardware

Light fixture, which should be vapor-proof and rated for sauna use

Foil vapor barrier

Finishing nails
