Recipe for Dinner
Pear and Carob Strudels
2 ripe pears, chopped 25 g/1 oz/1/2 cup carob chips Pinch of ground cinnamon
4 filo pastry (paste) sheets 20 g/1 oz/1/2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
Mix the paarwith the carob chips and cinnamon. Brush the pastry sheets with a little of the melted butter or margarine. Fold in half and brush again. Divide the pear mixture between the sheets of pastry’, putting it in the middle of one edge. Fold in the sides, then roll up. Transfer to a lightly greased baking sheet and brush with any remaining butter or margarine. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5 for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
