Recipe for Dinner
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup butter or margarine 25 g/1 oz/1/2 tbsp light brown sugar 15 ml/1 tbsp golden (light corn) syrup
15 ml/1 tbsp carob powder 45 ml/3 tbsp sultanas (golden raisins) A few drops of almond essence (extract) 225 g/8 oz/1/2 digestive biscuits (Graham crackers), crushed
Put all the ingredients except the biscuits into a large pan and heat gently until the fat and sugar have melted. Add the biscuits and stir well. Press into a greased 18 cm/7 in sandwich tin (pan) and chill overnight. Turn out and cut into small portions as this is very rich.
