Recipe for Dinner

Herb and Bean Pinwheels

MAKES ABOUT 30

Prepare as for Cheese and Asparagus Pinwheels but use garlic and herb cheese instead of plain and canned or cooked fresh or frozen French (green) beans instead of asparagus spears.

Citrus Pinwheels

MAKES ABOUT 30

Prepare as for Cheese and Asparagus Pinwheels but put a line of drained canned mandarin oranges in place of the asparagus spear in each roll.

Mexican Pinwheels

MAKES ABOUT 30

Prepare as for Cheese and Asparagus Pinwheels but use strips of red (bell) pepper instead of asparagus spears and sprinkle lightly with cayenne before rolling up.

75 g/3 oz/ 1/2 cup butter or margarine 100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup Shreddies breakfast cereal

5 ml/1 tsp garlic salt

1.5 ml/1 tsp chilli powder

Melt the butter or margarine in a roasting tin (pan). Add the cereal and toss until coated. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6 for 8 minutes until crisp and browned. Sprinkle with the garlic salt and chilli powder and toss well. Leave to cool. Store in an airtight container.
