To encourage the younger generation in our hobby they had a competition to produce a miniature display in a shoe box, and 19 children from Northwood entered. There were two categories ” up to 7 years and 7-11 years.
They also held a series of workshops throughout the day for the children but, it was tors all day. The response tlie club received was very positive. Many expressed their surprise at tlie diversity of tlie exhibition and left feeling quite inspired.
The day was a great success thanks to tlie members and visitors alike. With tlie raffle and the donated doll’s house items the day raised the amazing sum of £778 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the island.
All members in this busy group said that the whole experience was really enjoyable, made easier by the teamwork involved, with many partners being pressed into service too. Isn’t that what they’re there for?
