It’s a wonderful place. On a warm summer morning my breakfast scored top marks: on the tray, with its bristling white linen cloth, lay an English-language newspaper, a weather forecast, and details of local markets to visit that day; the coffee was exquisite; the croissants were a dream. (Dinner, served on a terrace shaded by cypress trees, turned out to be equally delicious.)
