Nuts That Bite Back

SERVES 4-6

175 g/6 oz/1/2 cup whole blanched almonds

25 g/1 oz/1/2 tbsp butter or margarine

5 ml/1 tsp chilli powder

5 ml/1 tsp mixed (apple pie) spice

2.5 ml/1 tsp salt

Fry (saute) the almonds in the butter or margarine until golden brown, tossing all the time. Sprinkle on the spices and salt and mix well. Drain on kitchen paper and leave to cool.
