Home Decor Diy Ideas
This is a large, four-bedroom house ideal for entertaining. All the living areas and bedrooms are north facing to capture maximum light and sun during the cooler seasons.
Entry is from the south, adjacent to the double garage and driveway. A wooden-deck walkway with a dry-packed stone wall along the one side leads to the front door, which is covered by a concrete slab.
The staircase to the first floor leads off the double-volume lobby. A glass front door, double-volume window and skylight provide natural light in the lobby and on the staircase.
The angle of the lobby, staircase and studio creates interesting spaces. The angles are carried through to the covered patio and balconies on the other side of the house.
There are windows only on the ground floor of the southern facade so as to provide maximum privacy from the bedrooms on the first floor to neighbours on the southern boundary.
The lobby leads to the garage, guest toilet, studio and lounge. The studio has a door to the wooden deck that surrounds the covered patio and forms a walkway along the front of the house.
