Now the Paradise Twins, an unremarkable pair of small theaters, this movie palace, called Loweys by its patrons, had a lavish 4,200-seat auditorium and a lobby resembling a Spanish patio. Literally every inch of its interior was dripping with ornamentation, and its ceiling was studded with twinkling stars and lazily moving clouds. The balconies were decorated with artificial flowers, and there were potted palms and gigantic sculptures everywhere.
