This Collegiate Gothic-style building is among the best public schools in any borough. Its auditorium, called Duncan Hall, has landmark status on its own. It is an unusually high space with an ornate balcony, elaborate plasterwork, and Tudor arches. It also has stained glass windows and decorative organ pipes. The room is decorated with a series of murals, including Auguste Gorguet’s World War I memorial, called After Conflict Comes Peace.
