Just off the Pipeline road, 12 kilometers from Kiserian town, is a short weather road that guides us to the Thorn Tree House. Our host, Jeanie Whitfield meets us at the main gate with a warm smile and directs us to the home she shares with her husband.
So appropriate is the name they have given their home which lies within a mini-forest of mature Acacia trees.
We chat as we walk to the main door which is made with mahogany wood sourced from the Congo. On the door, a thorn tree has been engraved on glass; custom-made at Kitengela Glass. The door opens up to a small indoor porch that leads to a lounge with a large dining table.
