This is New York’s oldest men’s club, and most of the others were spun off by its members who disagreed with its policies. While many of those upstart clubs are dedicated to sports and other special interests, the Union still sticks to its roots as a gentleman’s club of the old school. This building provides its members all of the comforts of home, and then some. It was one of the first buildings in the city with central air-conditioning.
